Editor’s letter

Dear Readers and Contributors of Naturopathic Currents,

In today’s digital world, we are constantly bombarded with the latest health trends and headlines. At times, it can be difficult to tell whether the information we read is truly credible. With the rise of AI, content can easily be embellished—or even fabricated—leaving us to wonder if what we are reading was written by a real person and whether it is grounded in actual science.
This is why peer-reviewed articles are more important than ever. They ensure that the content is authored by knowledgeable professionals and backed by evidence from current studies. Naturopathic Currents is committed to this principle, providing a trusted space where clinicians can share insights drawn from both research and real-world practices.
I know some of you may hesitate to write and share your expertise, but your contributions really are essential. By continuing to publish articles rooted in science and clinical experience, we safeguard the integrity of our profession and support our colleagues with reliable, practice-ready knowledge. You can rest assured that every article on this website undergoes careful review for accuracy and scientific credibility.
Since the start of 2025, we have had the privilege of publishing five excellent contributions:
Dr. Farnoush Khodarahmi, ND In two articles, she first explores the potential of berberine as a supplement for managing type 2 diabetes, comparing its effectiveness to metformin while reviewing the latest clinical evidence – Read it here. In her second piece, she highlights the growing body of research supporting saffron supplementation for mild to moderate anxiety and depression, with 10 recent studies underscoring its promise as a complementary therapy – Read it here.
Jil Northrup, ND offers a thoughtful exploration of endometriosis, discussing natural approaches such as melatonin, PEA, and NAC to help reduce inflammation and ease symptoms for those affected – Read it here.
Dr. Rob Ayoup, ND : Well known for his passion in skincare, he delivers a two-part series on rosacea. Part one examines its prevalence, etiology, and the role of proper skincare routines – Read it here. Part two delves into sunscreen selection and new cosmeceutical actives designed to target redness and skin sensitivity – Read it here.
I hope you find these articles both insightful and inspiring. More importantly, I encourage you to consider contributing your own work to Naturopathic Currents—whether drawn from research, clinical experience, or case studies. By sharing knowledge, we strengthen our community and ensure naturopathic medicine continues to grow as a credible and trusted voice in health care.
Happy reading,
Annick Moffatt, ND
